On April 9th-10th, the largest event of the Estonian local level year took place in Tallinn – the XIX Days of Cities and Rural Municipalities, which brought to Tallinn nearly a thousand local government leaders, specialists, representatives of state institutions and cooperation partners from all over Estonia.

The two-day forum covered topics ranging from education and social welfare to the green transition, energy solutions and digital services. The program included over 150 presentations and discussions, with approximately 280 speakers.

The LIFE program EC4RURAL cooperation project brought together community energy enthusiasts on April 10th for a workshop “Local benefits through a cleaner environment”, where Neeme Kärbo introduced our project and Reigo Lehtla (AECM) moderated a panel discussion “A new community energy model – through cooperation with companies”.

The panel discussion participants were:

  • Taavi Kotka, leader of the energy community in Viimsi municipality
  • Rafael Milerman, Estonian LEADER Union (ELU)
  • Robert Mägi, Tartu Regional Energy Agency (TREA)
  • Kertu Vuks, Tartu City Government Spatial Design Department
