The 8th newsletter of the EC4RURAL – LIFE program is now available! We open this edition by announcing the EC4RURAL European Conference on Rural Energy Communities, which will take place on October 1st in Vigo, marking the halfway point of our project’s implementation. The event is set to become a knowledge-sharing platform, featuring renowned sector experts. A preliminary version of the program is already available.
Registration and the call for papers are now open.
In the Meet Our Team section, Nele Ivask, project manager at the Tartu Regional Energy Agency (TREA), explains the work they are doing to support the twelve participating municipalities in creating rural energy communities tailored to their specific needs.
In the events section, we summarize some of the activities carried out by the partners over the past two months, such as meetings to create a self-sufficient network of energy community projects across Europe, allowing for the exchange of results and long-term learnings. We also cover the participation in a DG REGIO event in Brussels (Belgium) on cross-border energy communities, such as Efi-Duero.
Among our own activities, we highlight the opening of registration for the third Renewable Energy Communities Course.
Additionally, in this first newsletter of 2025, we invite readers to envision a future led by rural communities towards sustainability and energy self-sufficiency, and to revisit the video about our project.
