Xavier Simón, coordinator of EC4RURAL – LIFE Programme and Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Vigo, presented our project at the National Environment Congress CONAMA 2024. His presentation took place on Monday, December 2 (12:00-1:00 PM) as part of Session 2: Community Energy Projects.
Simón joined a panel discussion alongside Carlos Pesqué Castillo, Head of Community Energy at ECODES – Fundación Ecología y Desarrollo; Pedro Antonio Fuentes Sánchez, CEO and founder of Másinteligencia; and Alma Solar, Senior Project Manager at the cooperative Elèctrica d’Alginet (the CEA). The session was moderated by Penélope López González, European Projects Manager at TRAZA Consultoría – CERES.
This was a very positive experience for the EC4RURAL project as it provided greater national visibility. Indeed, the opportunity to present EC4RURAL at such a significant forum could open doors to new collaborations and strengthen the project’s position as a benchmark in bioeconomy and energy transition.
Finally, the discussion focused on energy, water, and circularity, three themes that are perfectly aligned with the objectives of EC4RURAL.
