The EC4RURAL consortium has just published the sixth issue of the project’s newsletter, where the latest news and the most relevant events since the summer can be reviewed.
The opening story of this issue covers the second in-person meeting, organised by the Estonian partners in the city of Tartu. This meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of progress, present the official project video, and showcase the milestones achieved over the past twelve months. One of the key achievements of this first year of work has been the development of two ad hoc tools to analyse the economic viability of a Rural Energy Community or any community-based energy production initiative.
In addition to the fruitful debates, participants visited Rõuge and Elva, two municipalities involved in the Estonian pilot, gaining valuable first-hand knowledge about local community energy projects.
This sixth issue also sees the launch of the “Meet Our Team” section, where we will introduce all the people who make this European initiative possible. In the inaugural interview, Natalia Outerelo, EC4RURAL project manager at the University of Vigo, shares her insights.
From the Atlantic to the Baltic shore
Finally, in the Events section, we highlight the busy schedule of activities planned for this October in locations as diverse as the Galician municipalities of Muíños, Rianxo, or Muras, the cities of Barcelona and Poitiers (France), and the municipalities of Alutaguse, Tori, and Saku, located along the Baltic Sea.
In three languages
As usual, the newsletter is available in Galician, Estonian, and English, the three languages of the EC4RURAL project partners.
